Uplift you Mind meditation Workshop followed by an optional Vajrasattva Retreat with kelsang Lekchog.
Online event- Sat 22nd May 10-12.30pm | Cost £10
We may wonder why it is so hard to be positive, why despite our best efforts we succumb to thoughts that trouble us. It seems so natural to blame the immediate circumstances of our life. Is it possible that the cause may be elsewhere? We all carry a weight of negativity in our minds. This causes us to get stuck in negative habits of thinking that are repetitive and destructive, it can also leave us feeling guilty and impossible to change. In this mini workshop we’ll discover what the causes of our negativity are, learn powerful Buddhist meditation practices that can free us of our negative burden, bad feelings or distractions. We can learn how to uplift our mind so that we become happier, lighter and experience freedom.
Vajrasattva retreat Sat 22nd & Sun 23rd online (optional)
The workshop will be followed by 4 sessions of retreat on the Saturday and Sunday where we can deepen our understanding and experience of karma and purification.
In particular we will be gaining practical experience of Vajrasattva meditation, the Buddha of purification, through which we can purify and release our mind from all its negativity. Through this practice we will naturally become happier, our mind more flexible, and that our meditation practice in general will become more effective.
On this retreat we will also discover what causes our negativity, our negative karma, and how to avoid creating negativity through controlling our mind. The retreat will include traditional Kadampa Buddhist prayers and meditation.
