Kadampa Meditation Centre Sheffield is a UK registered non-for-profit charity. The centre’s main aim is to help individuals with busy, modern daily agendas, find peace and happiness by learning to integrate meditation and positive thinking into their daily lives. As each individual finds inner peace, they will bring peace and harmony into their community. The centre is run entirely by volunteers and receives no external funding – income is generated soley through the centre’s own activities.
Established in 1985 by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, origianlly named Gyaltsabje Kadampa Buddhist Centre. The growing community of dedicated Kadmapa Buddhist practioners began to grow. Eventually in 2006 the Centre moved to its present location, a larger property on Eccleshall road. The Centre has a large meditation room with capacity for 75 people and extra space available via video link in the café area. We hold many classes each year with something to suit everyone.
